Why are Mature Audiences and Metaphysical not allowed?

There are a number of different moral stands that a group of people take, whether it be over their own household, company policies, or laws made by entire governments. So where do you draw the line? It depends upon what level of morality or ethics exists among those who are in charge. The U.S. government for example makes prostitution, narcotics, and child pornography illegal even though some of its citizens disagree with such laws. The reason for these standards is to protect people from what is believed by the lawmakers to be danger or harm. The intention of those who make these rules are for our good. So even if someone interprets these policies as being wrong or misguided, the good intentions of the policy makers cannot be questioned.

The following is a link to eBay's restriction page on items that it does not allow to be sold: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/ia/prohibited_and_restricted_items.html. Please note that Auction Zealot is behaving no differently than eBay or the US government by exercising its discretion in what it is willing to allow under its jurisdiction.

To prevent any misunderstanding, our restriction of both Metaphysical and Mature Audiences is not to be interpreted as any kind of statement about people who list items inside the Metaphysical category.
